The London Midwifery Practice philosophy is that every woman is an individual with unique needs. Therefore the care is individualised and designed to meet your unique needs , requirement and wishes. We will listen to you, support your wishes, and respect your ability to give birth in the way that you chose. Our mission is to ensure that your experience of pregnancy, child-birth and early parenthood is a fulfilling and memorable one for you all.

The London Midwifery Practice will provide:
Continuity of Care / Carer:
Throughout your pregnancy, child-birth and after your baby is born you will be cared for by the same midwife. The advantage of having the same midwife is that you will not receive conflicting advice.
Support - Choices:
There are different schools of thought about the best place for the mother deliver her child. We believe that the right place for you to have your baby is where you feel most safe. Whether it is in the hospital or at your home. There are specific risks associated with home and hospital births as well as different methods of delivery. It is therefore crucial that you read about these risks so that you are able to make informed decisions. We will be happy to discuss these risks with you, explain the implications of your choice for you and your baby and help you to explore your options. Providing your pregnancy has progressed normally, we can facilitate your choice. As independent midwives we can accompany you into all hospitals, our role depending on local arrangement and our clients’ needs.
Referral:
Midwives are highly trained and skilled in caring for women with “Normal Pregnancies”. This skill place us in the best possible position to recognise any deviations from the normal course of pregnancy. If complications arise, we will discuss the implications for you and your baby and will advise you to see a specialist for consultation. We liase with a number of hand picked obstetrician both in the private sector and in the NHS, whom we feel are sensitive to our clients needs. Should you need to be referred to a specialist, the practice secretary will make an appointment for you, and your midwife will accompany you to the consultation.
Accessibility:
Due to the nature of our work we carry a pager so that you can have access to your midwife 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the duration of your care.
